Illinois has just passed a state law mandating a moment of silence at the beginning of the day for public schools.
I think this quote from Neil Codell, superintendent of Niles Township High School District says it all:
"No wonder we're down at the bottom of all the states in school funding because this is what they [lawmakers] spend their time on."
Ridiculous.
